How much does your bespoke interior design service cost?

We typically charge a fixed fee and some services at hourly rates. So it depends on which services you require. When sourcing and suppling furniture and furnishings we typically charge a flat percentage fee and pass all trade discounts to our clients. We can chat more about specifics on the discovery call.

I have my own design can you just provide the 3D renders?

Even if you have your own ideas and some rough plans we still need to work through the detail design process to get to the 3D render stage. The good news is your ideas and rough plans will form part of the brief and we will work through these and other options to come to the final outcome. However we do provide architectrual rendering services and collaborate with Architects and Building Designers to complete these.

Do you provide architectural and building design services?

We are interior designers and 3D visualisers who regularly collaborate with Builders, Architects and Building Designers to achieve a cohesive design inside and out. You may already have your preferred architectural designer, or we can assist with engaging one that best suits your type of project.

Do you work with or recommend specific builders?

We have a handful of builders that we like to work with and who have delivered great outcomes for previous clients. We can connect you with builders that best suit your project and continue to work with them throughout the design process.

I alreay have my Kitchen and Bathroom Design, can you just help with the finishes selection?

Finishes selections is just a small part in an overall design process. The detail design and the finishes selection go hand in hand. Typically we only specify finishes for our own design projects or when we are collaborating with Builders and Architects.

Can you help with selecting furniture and furnishings for my new home?

Yes we certainly can. We can assess your scope, budget and leadtime over the phone and let you know if we can assist. Just keep in mind many pieces have a 4-6 month lead time at the moment with Covid supply issues.

I’m not sure what I want. Is this service for me?

Yes! We’re experts at asking all the right questions to draw out your ideas, understand your functional needs and develop your very own ‘design story’. We include mood boards, 3D visualisations and detailed drawings as part of our service to you, so you feel confident and empowered in your decision-making at every stage.

I only need one room of my home renovated. Can I still use this service?

We are typically engaged for a full interior design service for the whole home where we collaborate with all other consultants. However we do offer individual services for kitchens, bathrooms, laundries and custom cabinetry needs.

What’s your design style?

Great question! Personally, we love the Australian 50s style, which you’ll see in the design of our own home.

But as designers, we’re not bound by any particular styles or trends. Instead, we work closely with you to develop your own ‘design story’ – the aspirations, inspiration, nostalgia, feelings and fond memories you want your home to reflect.

We love to stretch our creative wings and constantly challenge ourselves, whether it be contemporary, classical or mid-century style.

Do you just do the design, or do you provide project management support too?

We definitely do more than just the design! We take an active role in your project and can provide as much support as you need us to. From procuring your products and managing deliveries, to liaising with your builder and acting as the central point of contact, we can support you from concept right through to completion.

What are your interior design qualifications?

Debbie has a Diploma in Interior Technology (graduated in 2005), and Dave has a Bachelor of Interior Design (graduated in 2003). We also both have more than 15 years experience working in leading architectural firms in London and Brisbane. Find out more about our skills and experience here.

Can I put forward my own finishes and fixtures ideas?

Yes, you can! We work with you to carefully select fixtures and fittings that are suitable for your space and budget and align with your vision. You may even have your own Pinterest board you would like to share with us.

Can I see sample finishes?

Yes, we will provide you with the hard finishes. For the fixtures & fittings we give you all the supplier details, and you’re welcome to visit a showroom to see the selections in-person.

What should my construction budget be?

We recommend a construction budget of between $20,000 and $40,000, depending on the size of your bathroom and the selections. If you plan to DIY and engage your own licenced trades, you could save between $10,000 and $20,000.

We’ll talk you through some typical costs when you book a call, and if you decide to go ahead, we’ll work with you to design a bathroom that fits within your budget.

Can you design a custom vanity for me?

We certainly can as we specalise in joinery and cabinetry design. We have a number cabinetmakers who we collaborate with. Generally this will take a little longer than and off the shelf item. We tell our clients allow between 6-12 weeks

Can you order the material for me?

We don't order finishes, fixtures and fittings however you or your builder can order them. We offer our clients our trade discoust so they can order themselves and save on their construction & design costs.

Do you use or recommend particular products or brands?

We're focused on finding the best solutions with quality fittings. We don't trawl the internet to find the cheapest and on sale items. However you are welcome to to shop for similar, more competitve items yourself however may not have a trade account set with these suppliers.

How long will the process take?

We aim to have your bathroom design completed in as little as 1-2 weeks. This will depend on how quickly you approve each sign-off stage.

What about lead times on products?

We’ll always identify any lead time on items and discuss these with you from the outset. We also check with our suppliers regularly to identify lead times and discontinued items and update our schemes as required. If time is an issue, we’ll suggest alternative products from other suppliers; however, you may have to sacrifice some craftsmanship for the quick turnaround. Overall, we’re led by your requirements regarding lead times and special orders.

An important thing to note is if you don’t order your products within a week of receiving your design package, some products may become unavailable. If this happens and you need us to source alternative products, additional charges may apply.

Can I ask my builder to provide a design?

Of course you can, and many people do. However, usually the builder will wait until you lock in a contract with them before they provide a thorough design service. This makes it hard to compare quotes based on the same design.

Sometimes the builder will outsource the design to a qualified designer or employ interior designers to provide this service to their clients, which is great. But so often the designs are not completed by a qualified designer and the price quoted is for a limited range of products, which means if you want to change something later, you might be hit with variation fees.

Finally, check that you’ll be receiving 3D renders as part of the service, so you have a complete understanding of what the final outcome will be.

Do you come out for a site measure and check out our exisitng bathroom?

If you live in Brisbane, we can arrange a site visit. We will organise a time to come to your home so we can have a clearer view of the existing conditions. We generally allow an 1.5hrs including travel time.

Do I have to live in Brisbane to access this service?

Not at all! Because our Bathroom Design Service is a virtual service, we can design your bathroom no matter where in Australia you live. Simply book a call with us and we’ll walk you through the process.
